To Whom It May Concern:

The 5th annual Norouz Festival is an ongoing effort to produce an organized, community-responsible and fiscally efficient celebration of NoRouz within the bounds of the Vasona Park, located in Los Gatos, California.

On April 5th and 6th, Iranian-Americans, as well as their friends and families and the entire surrounding communities will participate in a collaborative effort between Bay Area Iranian- American organizations, vendors and artists in the 5th Annual Norouz Spring Festival. Last year, this event gathered over 22,000 attendants. This year we are expecting well over 20,000 attendants as well.

We are hoping you will join us by doing one of the following:

-TAKE A LEADERSHIP ROLE: By Participating in the festival as a vendor, you will provide your company access to over 20,000 individuals at the festival in order to conduct marketing and recruitment activities.

-MAKE A CORPORATE CONTRIBUTION: Your Company’s sponsorship will send the right message to the thousands of the Iranian Americans who are potential consumers. Naturally sponsorships, depending on their levels, will be acknowledged in our TV commercials, newspaper ads, program pamphlet, website and banners (as directed by the donor). Our sponsorship levels range from Bronze $2,500, Silver $5,000, Gold $10,000 to Platinum $20,000.

-COME AND SUPPORT: This event is very important to the Iranian-American community of the Bay Area. It is vital that us for us to be exposed to our rich culture and heritage and to the joyous celebrations of our land in order to counteract the currently negative publicity prevalent in the media. Your presence can make a significant difference.

Festivities include recording artists, ethnic dances, a DJ and live music. Other free activities also include cultural exhibitions, face painting, balloon artists and more. A variety of Persian food and delicacies will be available for attendees.

The mission of this event is to raise funds towards building a huge Iranian-American Community Center, to serve those living in the Peninsula and the South Bay areas. The project, currently in the planning phase, includes a 20-acre facility and is estimated to cost over $100M. This project will house a museum, a library, senior resource center, child day care, a clinic, lots of retail, office, professional and residential (apartment) spaces which will be rented out. The rental income will help pay for mortgage, maintenance, insurance and other expenses. It will have a full gym, a 1,000 seat theater, over 40 meeting and conference rooms, a 500-seat dance and exhibition hall, a soccer field, basketball and tennis courts, lots of parking spaces and easy access to and from the major freeways as well as mass transit (bus and light rail). It will of course be open to everyone.

All members of the community should attend the event to support this cause, to learn more about this Iranian/Persian tradition and to enjoy the festivities. The Iranian-American community welcomes the entire Bay Area to share this rich culture, and also to educate all community members against negative Middle Eastern stereotypes while promoting a positive image of solidarity.

Reputable organizations, such as San Francisco Bay Area Iranian American Chamber of Commerce (IACC - a non profit corporation) and Hafez Foundation, a charitable and certified 501(c)(3) organization, are the fiscal agents for this event. As such they supervise the responsible collection as well as the distribution of all funds ensuring financial transparency. It is important to mention that none of the organizers get paid for this event and do it as a voluntary service to the community.

We sincerely hope that you will join us and help us reach our goal. Please feel free to contact any of us below in accordance with your needs. We thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely, Norouz Festival Committee
